Materials

LEATHER/SKIN
a general term for hide or skin that still retains its original fibrous structure more or less intact, and that has been treated so as to be imputrescible even after treatment with water. No product may be described as leather if its manufacture involves breaking down the original skin structure into fibers, powder or other fragments by chemical or mechanical methods, or both, and reconstituting these fragments into sheets or other forms. Skin: Pelt of a small or young animal.( calf, sheep, goat, etc.)

CALF LEATHER
a high quality, full grain leather that is taken from calves between 3 and 6 months of age. It is soft and resistant with a smooth finish.

CRUST
leather dried after tanning. Since chrome leather dried immediately after tannage will go hard, change charge and become difficult to rewet, this drying normally takes place after a basic retanning and fatliquoring. Leather is frequently traded world wide in this state, although tanners normally prefer to buy wet blue or pickle which gives them more flexibility of processing.

GENUINE LEATHER
is usually the stronger leather and originates from the top of the animal hide where the fibers are tighter. It is durable, supple, and more water repellant. Often it is buffed or sanded to reduce natural blemishes. Genuine leather has a slight shine to its appearance.

HORSY LEATHER
it's gotten by the tanning of the mantle of the colt. In the most classical version it's to wide stains but through his workmanship it's possible to get a vast range of combinations, both of color and of texture. This type of leather is used for build many products, from the leather goods (belts and shoes), up to the covering of furniture (couches and sofa)

NUBUCK
specific buffing on the upper side of the leather with no defect, this gives a velvety look to the leather Nubuck leather has a velvety texture very similar to suede yet the hides are sometimes thicker.

REPTILE LEATHER
leathers such as snake and python are characterized by their intricate scale pattern and gorgeous texture. These highly sought after leathers are generally used for smaller leather items.

VACCHETTA CALF LEATHER
vacchetta calf skins are tanned using vegetable dyes for a mat finish leaving a more weathered, casual look. Our Toscanella collection is created in our Vacchetta leather as part of its brand which ties together fashion with nature.

Buckles

BUCKLE
is the ultimate part of the belt that it concurs the connection. It's formed by a frame that can have several shapes (circular, rectangular...) and it can be constituted from various materials, generally metal or plastic. The belt comes made to pass inner of the frame and assured through a hinge (said prong buckle) that it goes to become part in one of the holes practices on the belt.

BRIDGE + PEG/HOOK
The bridge buckle, said also to peg or to hook, it is as the drawer buckle, but it allows to see the belt that gives him through.

DOUBLE

DOUBLE RING

The simple buckle to C is the more one used in the belts in skin and not only. Composed by one "C" where it passes the belt and from an to be inserted in the hole to regulate the measure.

TO ROLL
